Kickstarter Rewards November 07 2012, 7 Comments

So, we are starting to gear up for Kickstarter and have been pondering some reward options. So far we have stickers, t-shirts and etched glassware. What do you think? Are there better alternatives, or are these good rewards? We'll have at least a couple of different sizes of Bartendro on offer, but they will be in higher price brackets. Some rewards in the $50-$200 would be good. What would you like to see? Ideas welcomed in the comments.

Second the glasses, also a bummer sticker of party robotics since it’s cute and free advertisement

With the higher price and cool factor, I think businesses may want one. I think some custom LED lighting or logo graphics would be a selling point on top of a machine.

Thanks for your questions Nate. Right now Bartendro does not accept carbonated beverages. As for open bottles, Bartendro 7 and Bartendro 15 will ship with custom caps for the bottles. As for the pumps, the liquid does not pass through pump components other than tubing. We are using food grade Norprene which can handle ethanol well according to the manufacturer’s specs.

Just a few questions / concerns for your consideration:
- It appears your pumps pull liquids from open containers, how do you prevent soda from going flat?
- Same question for your mixers – juices are highly perishable when left exposed to open air and may even begin to mold overnight. Are these containers open to the elements too?
- The dispensing pumps that are being manufactured in Japan (and your tubing), are they certified to handle alcohol for human consumption? Liquor’s with high alcohol content by nature are very aggressive liquids that will leech out unwanted chemical from plastics and rubber such as rubber O-rings in your pumps, potentially creating dangerous cocktails!
